Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and Association of Jurists in association with Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a webinar on “International Arbitration - Challenges in the Execution of the Awards”.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.K. Sikri, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Prathiba M. Singh, Judge, Delhi High Court was the keynote speaker. Advocate Shashank Garg, Partner at Advani & Co. was the Moderator. Advocate Gagan Pardeep S. Bal welcomed the Guests while Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA & Chairman, Aryans Group extended Vote of Thanks to the guests.

Students of many Law Colleges of Punjab including St. Soldier Law College, Jalandhar; CT Institute of Law, Jalandhar; Amritsar Law College; Shaheed Amarjeet Memorial Law College, Patiala; Punjab College of Law, Tarn Taran; Aryans College of Law, Chandigarh etc attended the webinar. Dr. Kuldeep Garewal, Law Director, GNDU College & Dr. Yug Khaira, CT Law College also marked their presence.

Justice Sikri discussed various sections of International arbitrations such as the procedure, the implementation and about the grounds of awards. The basic Definition, interim measures related to foreign arbitrations etc. Justice Sikri also distinguished between the Domestic Award & Foreign Award.

Justice Prathiba M. Singh explained the application for setting aside the arbitral awards and also discussed the interim measures. Justice Singh explained about the conditions for enforcement of foreign awards.

Advocate Shashank Garg briefed the procedures of Arbitration, enforcement of certain foreign awards and took up the queries of the students with the judges and cleared their doubts.
