Lokpal Punjab Hon’ble Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma (Retd.) addressed Aryans Law Students
Hon’ble Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma (Retd), Lokpal Punjab addressed students in a webinar on “World Day for International Justice” organized by Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma while discussing the importance of Justice said that the judicial system of a nation puts every person in their own place, and fights corruption in the process. Sharma further said that ensuring justice is the chief goal of the judicial system, and it takes every measure necessary to ensure the same
Sharma further enlightened the students that the day marks the anniversary of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the court for the prosecution of individuals accused of mass atrocity crimes. The day is celebrated to make people aware and united to support the justice and also to promote the rights of the victims.
He added that the need for international justice has become more essential from the recent episode of the international human rights movement titled “Black Lives Matter.” which spread across the world against police brutality, systemic racism, and injustice. He also encouraged that we must remind ourselves of the importance of pursuing justice and accountability not just as a legal obligation, but as a moral necessity.
